Lisa Johnson wanted her home to serve as a daily escape, a tropical paradise where she could feel like she's on a perpetual vacation. We sourced natural materials, added earthy tones, and designed custom outdoor spaces to create her dream tropical sanctuary.
Lisa Johnson loved two things in life: her home and vacations. She wanted to merge these loves into a singular living experience. We began by journeying through her favorite holiday spots, drawing inspiration from sandy beaches, tropical flora, and oceanic blues. We designed an open-air living space that captured the essence of an island resort, complete with a custom-built tiki bar and poolside lounging area. Natural materials like rattan and bamboo were used for furniture, while exotic plants were carefully selected to maintain a tropical vibe year-round. The end result? A home where every day feels like a holiday.
Lisa Johnson's idea of paradise was a home where the holiday never ends. She wanted to wake up to the sounds of nature, sip her morning coffee overlooking a pool that resembled a lagoon, and entertain friends in an atmosphere that screamed ‘vacation.’ We brought the vacation to her by visiting tropical resorts and botanical gardens to study the plants, colors, and materials that created that resort-like feel. A palette of bright blues, earthy browns, and vibrant greens set the mood. We sourced fabrics that were not just beautiful but also resistant to weather, ensuring that her paradise would remain idyllic year-round. Lisa's home is now a personal resort, offering an escape from the mundane every single day.
